Factions

These are mini-descriptions of the Factions, not including set character names; just some idea about what you can play.

Remember : Each and every group will have their own set of materials. Only commonly known stuff, meta, offgame and "what you need for a character idea" kind of things are published on the webpage.

The Great Rainwater Tribe
Named after the network of cisterns they keep up. The Great Rainwater Tribe is quite large and well organized. They have good hunting grounds, lush wilderness for foraging and few ruins offering ancient Gifts of the Goddess to keep them wealthy. The Tribe is not very warlike, and only third or so of it's members possess firearms. They are relatively openminded and have a large percentage of Devouts with them. Some mutos also live with them, but most of them have only minor abnormalities. The Great Rainwater Tribe is quite democratic.

The Great Rainwater Tribe is the largest player faction in the game. It will have a leader, leading warrior, two spiritual leaders (one being militant, one more peaceful), a healer, a trader, a technician, perhaps few craftsmen, several warriors and a lot of others.  Pre-Written or Workshopped characters.

The Silent Shadow Tribe
More secretive Tribe and sometime allies of the Great Rainwater Tribe. The Tribes are neighbours and co-exist more or less peacefully. They have teamed up to repell some marauders before. The Silent Shadow tribe consists of hunters and foragers, who migrate between several camps on the area that surrounds the Great Rainwater Tribe. They trade with the Rainwater-people, and usually ignore everyone else and hide from them. They have several mutos in their ranks. Many have joined their ranks from the Outsiders and some people have been cast out for lack of skill and toughness. The Silend Shadow Tribe is well equipped, placing value for skilled marksmen.

The Silent Shadow Tribe is a small group of player characters for more combat minded players. It will have leader, some other roles and a more or less warrior-type characters for the rest. Workshopped or Pre-Written characters, you can opt for ”no plots” character.

The Bear Spirit Tribe
The Bear Spirit Tribe is group lead by a shaman. They lived their lives according to the teachings of the spirits, until they were driven off by the Warmongers. They are quite primitive, cut off from the Gifts of the Goddess and possessing mostly bows and spears. They have no mutos amongst themselves, as they consider them to be monsters. They are on the move, fleeing from the Warlord.

The Bear Spirit Tribe is a small group of player characters for those players who wish for more immersionist experience and less involvement in air soft fighting. Workshopped or Pre-Written characters.

The Pilgrims
Pilgrims are faithfull servants of the Goddess and are still in touch with Her, as they can operate any Gift known to men. They travel the Land searching for ancient Relics. Many of them have combat experience, they do accept Muto's amongst themselves and they are really well equipped.

The Pilgrims are reserved for players who speak swedish as a native language. It is a small group. Workshopped or Pre-Written characters.

The Traders
The Traders will be a group that has visited the are before. It is not written beforehand. It is reserved for a group that wishes to workshop their characters, but it can be a pre-written group as well. It's a small group and quite well equipped.

AND...

The Warmongers
The Warmongers are a large group for combat oriented players. They will have scouts, warriors, established inside hierarchy with officer types and some support characters and perhaps slaves if someone wants to play one (slave would be a more immersionist character in this group and less combat oriented). They will serve the Warlord and most likely they will have ”reinforcements” during the game. You can opt for a ”NPC” style character and have no real plots from the beginning if you wish, you can workshop your character as a part of a small group or you can have a pre-written character.

We also need more of them.
Seriously people. This game won't happen without them.

Is it the fact that they are flagged to be the airsoft-friendly group? Of course they are. BUT , they also need the roleplayers. Negotiating, living the camp life, internal plots, intrigue, scavenging, scouting... All kinds of stuff. And the faction, atm, is HEAVY with roleplayers instead of goons. So just sign up, join the Warmongers and find your niche.

Some example/suggested character archtypes:
(These are just skeletons as well. Add relationships, personal motivations, weaknesses, religions = you have a character.)

Fanatics - People who believe that the Warlord truly is the only rightful ruler of these lands and will do anything for the Cause.

Ex-Competitors - Former members of different warmonger tribes, now conquered by the Warlord. Might fanatics, or might be waiting for a chance to betray the current leadership and either turn against them or take the power to themselves.

Conscripts - Members of Tribes conquered by the Warlord. Some were taken by force, some volunteered, some were sold to service. Might even be traders from the other represented factions.

Officers - Subleaders. Some might lead by example, fighting in the frontline, others might be tacticians/strategists, others just masters social hierarchy with an opportunistic world view. Some are chosen because of their loyalty, some because their ambition makes them useful (up to the point where they are shot for being too ambitious)

Primitive Infantry / Pit Fighters / Shock Troopers - Guys who are sent to the frontlines with axes, spears and swords. Some are just too uncivilized (or poor) to have any knowledge of firearms, some take Pride in killing their foes in hand to hand and want to show of their superior skills. Some are professional shock troopers, who know that it is a quick way to Glory and necessary part in the warfare. ... Interesting subtype would be "The Champion" who goes and challenges the opponents to personal combat, perhaps because of overconfidence, perhaps because of some kind of remains of a chivalric ideal? Might even be ex-Bogatyr.

Techie/Mechanist - The Warmachine needs to be repaired. These guys manufacture and repair everything that is needed.

Medics/Healers/Sawbones - When you make war, you also need to repair the human resources.

Slaves - Someone needs to do the menial tasks, housework, and of course, you need entertainment for the troops. Might be personal servants or shared by a group of soldiers. The Warlord should have some for Himself.

Scouts - Information is the key to success. Scouts might be either sneaky types with binoculars, or social types send out to spy on the enemy. Many options here.

Warpriests - Religion is possible. Perhaps someone worships the WAR as a god, or Creators of the Weapons, or even the Warlord as a God and Harbringer of the New Age.

Elite Troops - Best gear, best pay, best entertainment. Worst fights. Might be mindfucked backflashing veterans, psychotic killers or just the Very Finest Troops bend on elitism, egoism and overconfidence
